The crow (raven)

Edgar Allan Poe try to convey us a sense of anguish and despair through the poem, whose reason is the death of his beloved Eleonor.

Poe represents these feelings in a black raven symbol of evil and bad omen, something tragic, and makes us a feel as he felt.

The Simpson´s representation is very original and gives a sense of comic-horror where each of the elements are illustrated in a way that we understand what the poem tries to tell us. 

The conjuring

The conjuring is, probably, one of the best horror movies in the last years; the film is handled like a real-based history. An American family begins to experience supernatural events, so they had to search for help and they found a couple who are engaged in research this kind of events. 
 
Possessions, noisiness, unknown forces and old diabolic histories, all this in conjunction with great music and sound effects, and a perfect environment makes an obligatory film to see for they who like this kind of movies.
 
Although the thread can be very common, aspects like the direction, the script and the camera movements give the conjuring a special feeling and gives the sense of suspense and horror in every scene. A special detail is the doll in the movie, it makes scare by itself, the face, the expression, the clothes; this film is not a classic horror movie, it’s a perfect combination of a classic history with an excellent direction.
 
I really love horror movies, and this one is especially for many reasons, it gets you scare without extreme violence, and the movie neither have a lot of special effects, so I think it´s a great job, the suspense, the mystery and the history enclose in a perfect way.
 
Definitive this movie isn’t suitable for sensitive people.

¿Por qué las dos clavijas planas en los enchufes para aparatos electrónicos tienen dos agujeros?

Si desconectas cualquier aparato dentro de tu casa, existe una posibilidad del 98%  que las clavijas planas tengan hoyos en ellas.

Existen tres razones para estos agujeros:

1.   Si desmontarás la salida y mirarás los limpia contactos en donde las clavijas se deslizan, encontrarás que tienen protuberancias en ellas. Estas protuberancias encajan en los agujeros así que la salida puede sostener las clavijas más firmemente. Esta detención previene que el contacto se deslice fuera del enchufe por el peso del cable y las clavijas. También mejora el contacto entre el enchufe y la salida.

2.   Los aparatos electrónicos pueden ser “sellados de fábrica” o “desbloqueados” por el fabricante o por el propietario usando una tira de plástico o un pequeño candado que abarque uno o ambos agujeros de las clavijas. Proyectos de construcción o requerimientos de seguridad industrial podrían requerir este tipo de sellado. Por ejemplo, un fabricante podría aplicar una banda de plástico a través del agujero y añadir una etiqueta que diga “Debes hacer, bla bla bla antes de conectar este aparato”. El usuario no podrá conectar el aparato sin remover la etiqueta, así, el usuario seguramente verá las instrucciones.

3.   Existe también un pequeño ahorro en materia prima (metal) para el fabricante de la clavija. ¡Cada ayuda cuenta!

Se ha informado que las salidas viejas utilizan rodamientos de bolas para la detención, pero hoy en día se hace con una protuberancia y contactos de cobre elásticos.

Topic 1: Active and Passive voices.

The first topic in the course is the active and passive voice; these are used to represent the same idea but changing the focus between the responsible for an action and the result or the action. If we want to emphasize the action we have to use the passive voice, and this is formed with the verb “to be” in the same time form of the sentence (present, past or future) and adding the participle.

But, if we want to emphasize the responsible or the subject, we use the active voice, and the structure is; the subject + the verb + the complements.

Introduction to the course

The first videos of the course talk about the importance of learning the English language, and explain the principal reasons to learn it. Specially because English is the global language; we can find people who speaks English all around the world in every country, and the most of the text and information in books, magazines and obviously the internet are in English, that is the importance of learning this language, we can start being part in the global culture if we can learn it.
